If the email address of your identity provider (Google or Apple) has changed, you can now easily update it in the Tapkey app. This applies in particular to users who log in with Apple ID and anonymise their email address in the authentication mechanism. In this case, Tapkey receives and anonymised email address, which must then be used by the owner to grant access. If such a user wants to display their correct email address in the app in order to receive the permission on it, they must first remve the Apple ID from the Tapkey app directly from Apple. (App and websites that are connected to Apple ID > Manage > Tapkey > Stop using Apple ID). Now the email address can also be updated in the Tapkey app. There are two scenarios in the Tapkey app on how it works:
1a. Pop up appears when logging in: Email address has changed
The pop up now regonises that you have changed the email at your identity provider. Click on See more and you will be automatically redirected to point 3.
1b. Click on the user settings in the menu
Alternatively, you can initiate this process manually.
2. Click Update email address
This menu entry only appears if the email address does not match thge email address in your identity provider.
3. Now press the Update-Button
At this step, the lock owners will be informed of your change and your existing permissions will be updated to the new email address.
4. Confirm the update
✔ Done! Now you will see the updated email address in your menu.
